Abstract:

An overview on current issues in international I.P. strategies in a global business context is presented.  The presentation first covers a description of the variety of intellectual property rights, as well as how each applies to different technologies. While addressing the U.S. patent practice, the talk mostly focuses on strategic options for offshore development, including offshore incentives, tax issues and the international market, and the benefits of I.P. A business model of cross-border developments and I.P. transfer is also discussed as well as advice on licensing terms and country selection.
