Summary

The market driven approach not only mandates that we write it with the readers in mind, but also demands us to focus on market potential rather than technological superiority. If we are to convince potential investors to make substantial financial commitment, we need to effectively address what concerns them most: (1) whether they can get their money back (2) whether they can make some profit and (3) if yes, when and how much. Using a real-life example, the workshop will illustrate how to approach the task from a customer's perspective. Issues are to be covered include:

·  The cornerstones of a successful new venture

·  What a VC looks for when evaluating an investment opportunity

·  VC investment decision process and its implications for writing a business plan

·  How to define and qualify the market

·  How to estimate the value of your offering

·  The structure and format of a typical business plan
